Detail Itinerary

Day 01. Drive to Damouli and Rafting: We drive form Pokhara in the early morning to Damauli, our Rafting starting point. After the rafts are rigged, we will set off down the Seti Khola. We spend the whole day within its forested canyon. The luxuriant vegetation we see is a remnant of the vast forested area, which once covered the middle hills of Nepal. Even now we are objects of curiosity to the villagers. Traveling by rafts is a perfect way to view undisturbed wildlife. When we stop for lunch we have time to explore, Photograph, bird watching, swim or relax. Later in the afternoon we encounter a small but technical rapid near the village of Saranghat. Inhabited by Magars, who are renowned for generations of service with the Gurkha forces, Saranghat is a colorful middle hills village, overnight at tented camp, ( A, L, D).

Day 02. Rafting and drive to Kathmandu, pokhara or Chitwan: After having breakfast at the camp and repacked the raft, we will set off down the Seti River. Later we encounter the technical rapid grade 3 shortly after the rapid we leave Seti Khola and enter Trisuli River. Here the middle hills recede and the Terai plain opens before us. The Topography has changed dramatically. The twisted severe rock formations give away to sandstone and gavel deposited by antecedent Rivers. After lunch, we have opportunity to visit a unique religious community, Devhgat, Thousands of pilgrims visit the ashram to worship every year. At this point Kali Gandaki joins the Trisuli River and our adventure ends here, ( B, L)

Options:  After rafting ends in Devghat, you have options of return to Pokahra, drive to Pokahra or drive to Chitwan National park , the Chitwan National park is very near form Here so, most of the travelers visit Chitwan National park for the Jungle safari and wild like activities, so, do let me know if you also want to visit Chitwan after the Kaligandaki rafting .

The Wonderful Environment of the Himalayas is also an extremely fragile one. Increasing population density and numbers of travelers threaten the very beauty of Nepal. At Escape Nepal, we are extremely conscious about the environment and aim to minimize our impact as much as possible. As deforestation is one of the greatest environmental threats we face in this region, we do not encourage camp fires and encourage use of kerosene for cooking as an alternative fuel to wood. We also discourage trekkers from using wood-fuelled hot showers in lodges along the way. Many lodges, however, now have solar hot showers, a far more eco-friendly alternative.

Garbage disposal is another major problem and some of the busier trails can, at times, appear strewn with litter for miles. Our staff members are well motivated towards eco-friendly practices. We carry out all our garbage, apart from that which can be safely and easily burnt at the campsite. Our aim is to help protect and preserve this beautiful environment for future generations of trekkers to enjoy and we advise the same to you to keep the garbage on proper site and take return those with you to homes which are Non- biodegradable.

We at Escape Nepal would like to requests the following things and to be a responsible tourist:

  • Leave only footprints and take only photographs.
  • Use designated routes, campsites and resting places to reduce trampling and other negative environmental impacts.
  • Respect local culture and traditions, use home stays, locally owned hotels/ lodges or campsites as much as possible to support the local livelihood.
  • Avoid/ minimize using firewood. Use common space for heating. Opt for alternatives to minimize deforestation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene. Use the litter box locally available. Carry back your own garbage while traveling through ecologically sensitive areas.
  • Encourage to place mobile toilets at a considerable distance from sources of water, river banks and springs while camping along the river sides.
  • Use the services of local guides and porters as much as possible to explore more about local environment and culture.
  • Money spent here will contribute directly to the local livelihood, women’s empowerment and environmental conservation.
  • Before you begin your journey we request you to abide by the above guidelines in order to safeguard the nature and culture of the area and be a responsible tourist.
