Trip Overview

Best of Nepal adventure is an exclusive tour package and prepared for those who have about two weeks' holiday to explore Nepal. Best of Nepal adventure explores the culture, nature, Himalayas, valleys, and Jungles in Nepal.

Nepal is the best destination for all types of travelers and offers cultural, historical, religious monuments, Mountains, hills, Jungles, and natural heritages. We made a 12 days itinerary that has covered almost every tourism activities in Nepal. The 12 days best of Nepal adventure package is a life-changing adventure.

You explore Kathmandu that includes a visit to Kathmandu Durbar Squire, Swyambhunath, Pasupatinath Temple, and Bouddhanath Stupa. Further, you travel to Pokhara and go to Ghorepani- Poon Hill Trek. The trek is one of the famous treks in Nepal and offers great views of the beautiful Himalayas. You take a short drive to Nayapul and start trekking to Ghorepani. You have an overnight stay in Tikhedunga on the way to Ghorepani. Once you reach Ghorepani and hike to Poon hill, you will be hiking further to Tadapani, Ghandruk, and Pokhara.

You then go for a Jungle safari in Chitwan National park, and the Chitwan national park is one of the best parks in Nepal, established in 1973 AD, where you have a look at various species of birds, plants, and animals including, wildlife, floras, and faunas. Chitwan is situated only 150m above the sea level, during the March-June, the steamy covers around. Whereas the short grass of Feb-May the best game-viewing season, but the autumn months are gorgeous with Himalayan views.

You are met and greeted by our airport representative/driver on your arrival at Kathmandu airport. He transfers you to the hotel and helps you to check in to the hotel.

The evening is free, and after you’ve refreshed, you can go for a stroll down the street to get familiar with your surroundings.

After having breakfast at the hotel, you go on a guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu. You are escorted by a professional tour guide to visit Kathmandu. The tour includes Kathmandu Durbar Square, Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath Temple, and Baudhanath Stupa and all these sites are UNESCO world heritage cultural sites.

Our guide will drop you at the hotel once the tour is complete. You then have a free evening to look around and buy some trekking gear if you need it.

After early breakfast at the hotel, the trek guide will come to pick you up, and he takes you to the bus station to drive to Pokhara by tourist bus. The drive goes along the scenic Trisuli and Marsyangdi River valley to reach Pokhara.

After 6 - 7 hours (depends on traffic) of drive, you arrive in Pokhara, the city of lakes. Check in to the hotel and evening is free to explore yourself, or our guide will take to walk around the lakeside and Phewa lake.

After having breakfast at the hotel, you drive to Nayapul that takes about one and half hours, you then start the trek for today, and this is a pretty easy flat path hike as you pass through several small lively villages and settlements. You ascend gently to the final destination of the day to reach Tikhedunda.

After having a hot breakfast at the lodge, you start the trek by ascending steeply up for the first 2 hours. The trail then ascends gently by passing through Ulleri and Banthanti villages.

The trail offers breathtaking views of Machhapuchhare (6997m.), Hiunchuli (6441m.), and the grand Annapurna (7219m) south on the way.

The trail now gets easy going as you pass through rhododendron and shadowy forests amidst the cackling of birds, which gives good feelings till you ascend gently up to the final camp to the Ghorepani.

Today, you hike to Poonhill (3210m.) very early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise views over the Himalayas. The Views of mountains includes Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Tukuche Peak (6920m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.), Machhapuchhare (6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.), Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal (6931m.) and other numerous snow-capped mountains. Poonhill has always been a symbol of beauty for the Annapurna region.

You then return down to Ghorepani to have a hot breakfast. You then start trek to Tadapani (2650m.). Most of the trails today go through blooming rhododendron forest, and the beautiful flower makes the jungle colorful in spring when they bloom.

Check in to the lodge in Tadapani, and the evening is free.

After breakfast at the lodge, the trek starts for today, and It is an easy trek today by descending gently through rhododendron, oak, and other kinds of dense forests.

The Ghandruk is a big Gurung village, there is a handicraft center and Gurung museum and You can see the views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna (7455m.), Annapurna III (7755m.) and Fishtail from Ghandruk.

After breakfast at Lodge, you start trek to Nayapul, and today is the last day of the trekking. And, it is easy trekking by descending gently half of the way through the rice field and local villages and flat trail to Nayapul.

You stop at Birethati to have lunch. Trek about half an hour to Nayapul, where our vehicle will be standing by to drive back to Pokhara.

After an early breakfast at the hotel, you drive to Chitwan, which takes about 6-7 hours (depends on traffic) hours and check into our jungle lodge. After you get refreshed, you have lunch, and a brief of the tour/activities will be given, and you go on a Tharu village tour in the evening.

After breakfast at the lodge, you go on a full day of jungle activities in Chitwan National park. The tour includes Jungle walking, Canoe ride, Jeep safari, and you also enjoy a scintillating Tharu cultural stick dance that’s exciting to watch in the evening.

After breakfast, you go for an interesting bird watching tour in the morning. You then drive to Kathmandu that takes about 6-7 hours (depends on traffic) and check into the hotel. The evening is free to make last minute shopping.

We offer farewell dinner in the evening as this is your last night stay in Nepal after a great adventure in Nepal. Enjoy the dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.

Extra night hotel in Kathmandu pre or post the Best of Nepal Adventure is available at the US $ 55.00 at 3-star hotel, including breakfast and airport transfers.

Let us know if you arrive earlier or stay in Nepal later than the scheduled date of Best of Nepal Adventure, then we can book the extra nights as per your need.

Transportation Used on Best of Nepal Adventure

We provide a private vehicle for airport transfers & tours in Kathmandu and tourist bus transport for Kathmandu- Pokhara – Chitwan- Kathmandu. However, you have options to drive by private car/jeep from Kathmandu -Pokhara –Chitwan- Kathmandu or a short flight from Kathmandu – Pokhara and from Chitwan to Kathmandu.

Please, do let us know if you want to upgrade the modes of transport to private vehicles or flights.

Electricity and battery charge facility on Best of Nepal Adventure

There is electricity available in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, and in most of the villages of trek part of this adventure where can charges your camera/mobile batteries, and it may cost you some fee to recharge them.

However, we strongly suggest you have spare batteries in case of not availability.

Guide and Crew on Best of Nepal Adventure

We provide a professional tourist guide for a day tour in Kathmandu on day two and a trained trekking guide for the whole trek who handles the logistics and guide you and your team on the trekking.

We also provide you a Sherpa (assistant guide) when there are eight or more members in the group. We provide porters to carry your luggage trek part. There is one porter for every two members, and a porter carries about 20 - 22KG, which means 10- 11 KG from each trekker. And, we provide you trained nature guide for the Jungle safari part in Chitwan National park.

You need to have a moderate level of fitness with daily walking/trekking between 3 to 7 hours to do the best of Nepal adventure. You reach an altitude of 3210m above sea level on this tour. You do not need to have previous trekking experience. However, you need to be healthy and need to have a strong desire and stamina to complete the tour successfully.

Yes, you get an airport pick up on arrival at Kathmandu airport once you book the best of Nepal adventure. However, the free Airport transfer is available only if you arrive and depart on our scheduled dates. If you arrive or return on different dates, then some extra costs may apply for these transfer services.

Escape Nepal’s representative/driver will be standing by at the Airport pick you up and transfer to the hotel. He will have an Escape Nepal placard or your name written in the paper so, find him when you exit from the Airport.

Important Note on Arrival: There can be many people around you to support you to carry your luggage or to put your luggage in the vehicle when you exit from Airport, and they ask for money as a tip at the end (These people do not belong to us).

So, be careful of them, and we advise you not to let to carry your bag/luggage. We suggest you take your bag/luggage yourself until you put on our vehicle as there are many trolleys that you can use free of cost.

The best of Nepal adventure is available and doable throughout the year. However, the autumn (from mid-September till mid-December) and spring (from the beginning of March until May end) are the best time for the best of Nepal adventure.

Yes, you need to have some permits to do the best of Nepal adventure. You are required to have Annapurna conservation area entry, TIMS, and Chitwan national park entry permits. We at Escape Nepal apply and get these permits for you once you book this tour.

No, You do not have to carry your luggage on Best of Nepal Adventure. The main luggage will be carried by porters, and You will carry a day pack with a water bottle, camera, sun-screen, spare jacket, etc. as a small load allows full enjoyment of the trek.

Yes, Children are allowed on the best of Nepal adventure. However, they should be healthy and fit enough to complete the trekking part. The best of Nepal adventure is a child-friendly tour in Nepal. However, We at Escape Nepal allowed only ten or above children to join our group tour of the best of Nepal adventure. If you are planning with children under ten years, then we suggest you do a private tour without other strangers.

Yes, However, the tip for all services provided on the best of Nepal adventure is always a matter of personal discretion. However, please be aware that the tip is considered to be a part of their remuneration. Thus, they may approach you for the payment.

The US $5 for the guide and the US $ 3 for the driver from each member on day two. And, a total of US 70.00 from each member for the trekking part to divide guide and porters are reasonable tips (it depends on the size of the group you traveling so, our trek guide will give you a clearer idea when the trek is ending).

Yes, you need some money for personal expenses, and personal expenses depend largely on your habit. Most of the meals are provided at the cost. You need some money for table drinks (alcoholic/nonalcoholic beverages), some meals in Kathmandu and Pokhara, and snacks on trekking (some smaller shops are available along the trail), souvenirs, a hot shower (you have to pay in some places), etc.

If you do not drink alcohol and not shopping, then the US $12-15 per day per person should be enough for these extra expenses.

Yes, we strongly recommend you to buy travel insurance that covers many things and rescue in case of any sickness or injury while on trekking.

We do everything to make a successful trek. However, there is always some risk on a mountain trek, and the evacuation by helicopter in Nepal is very expensive. So, it is always better to be safe and covered by insurance.

A total of 25 meals (11 breakfasts, six lunches, and six dinners) are provided on the best of the Nepal adventure package. These meals are taken in lodges/hotels. The breakfasts and dinners are provided at the lodge where you stay overnights, and lunch at the lodges available along the trail. We provide you meals in a hotel/resort while at Chitwan national park.

You can find a wide variety of Nepali and Western meals on this trail. However, Nepali set meals (Dal Bhat) is available everywhere). The drinks like coffee, tea, milk, soft drinks, and beer, etc also available in all places, and note that these drinks are not included.

We suggest you bring water purification pills/medicine while coming for the best of Nepal adventure since you can have normal water for free so, you use the medicine and drink, or you have the option to buy bottled or boiled/safe water to drink.

We provide a hotel for seven nights (3 nights in Kathmandu, 2 nights in Pokhara & Chitwan) and simple lodge/teahouse accommodation for the rest of the 4 nights on the trekking part. The rooms are basic, normally just a bed with a pillow and blankets on available lodges, and of them are very basic, and a sense of adventure is necessary.

We wish that you won’t have AMS or any other sickness on the Best of Nepal adventure. However, there is always a risk of AMS (Altitude mountain sickness) while going on a mountain trek. Our guide will provide you information to avoid AMS while trekking. However, if you or any member of the group get AMS, then we do everything to bring you back safely.

And, It depends on the situation and the place people getting sick as such if you get AMS and still able to walk, then we take a day rest (while others continue the trek) with one of the porter/guides. And, we see how the situation improves, and we can continue the adventure from the next day if the situation gets better.

And, If there is not any improvement or even worse, we do not have other options rather than return the same trail as descending is the only way to get rid of AMS. Or, if the situation gets worse and you can not walk, then we rescue/evacuate and bring you back to Kathmandu to visit a doctor.

The cost of evacuation by helicopter is expensive in Nepal, and it is almost impossible to pay by the people so, we strongly suggest you buy an insurance policy that covers the evacuation in the worst situation.

No, The International flights to arrive in Nepal and return from Nepal are not included in our itinerary and price of the best of Nepal adventure. You have to search and book a suitable international flight to arrive in Nepal and return yourself. There are plenty of international airlines that make a flight to Nepal.

Yes, you can add a mountain flight tour on the morning of day two, and Trisuli River Rafting for 3 hours on day three while you drive to Pokhara, and these activities do not need any extra days. Furthermore, if you have some extra days, then you can add Tibet Lhasa Tour in Tibet or Bhutan Tour in Bhutan.

Equipment is very important to have a comfortable and successful Best of Nepal Adventure. So, you need to pack your gear carefully and pack only the things that you need and not anything that you no need for the trek.

To help you to pack your gear for the Nepal student tour, we have given some list that you should not miss while you are packing.


  • Four seasons sleeping bag (we provide you one if you do not have).
  • Duffel or Rucksack bag to keep all your gear, which will be carried by the porter.
