3 Days Poon Hill Trek is a short trek itinerary in the Annapurna Region of Nepal. The Poon Hill Trek in 3 days is a little rush. The 3 Days Poon Hill Trek starts and ends in Pokhara and Pokhara is about 200KM west of Kathmandu and the most popular beautiful tourist city in Nepal. You drive to Nayapul, which takes about 2 hours from Pokhara, and start trekking to Poon Hill. You walk about 4 hours for the first day to Tikhedunga. Then, trekking to Ghorepani the next day, that takes about 7 hours.

You hike to Poon Hill the next day as Poon Hill is the final destination of the trek. You can view an excellent sunrise view over the Himalayas. The views of Annapurna South, Annapurna 1, Hiuchuli, Fishtail, Nilgiri, Tukuche peak, and Dhaulagiri is best from Poon Hill. You trek down to Ghorepani to have hot breakfast and trek down to Nayapul on the same trail that you trekked in the previous day, and finally, you drive back to Pokhara to conclude the Poon Hill trek.

You drive to Nayapul after having breakfast at your hotel in Pokhara. You then start trek to Nayapul, and today is the first day of the three day Poon Hill trek.

The trekking takes about 4 hours from Nayapul to Tikhedunga. And, you also stop in some villages in between to have lunch.

Today is the second day of your three days Poon Hill Trek, and the trek takes about 7 hours. This part of the trekking is the hardest part of the whole adventure. The first part for 2 hours is step uphills until Ulleri, the trek then goes gradually up to the Ghorepani. You also have to stop at Banthati or Nangethati to have lunch.

The trek goes through the waterfall, terraces, and forest. You can hear the sounds of chirping birds, and you can also see the monkeys on this part.

Today is the last day of this short 3-day Poon Hill Trek. You hike to Poon Hill early morning before sunrise as you are going to see the Sunrise view over the Himalayas. The hike to Poon Hill takes about one hour from Ghorepani.

Great views of the Himalayas from Poon Hill include Dhaulagiri, Tukuche peak, Nilgiri, Annapurna 1, Annapurna South, Hiuchuli, Fishtail, and many others.

You hike down to Ghorepani and have breakfast. You pack up your stuff and start trek to Nayapul. The trekking today is long. However, the trail is mostly downhill and flat level. The trekking takes about 7 hours to reach Nayapul, and you also stop at Hile to have breakfast. There is a vehicle waiting for you to drive back to Pokhara.

Best Time for the 3 days Poon Hill Trek

The best time for the 3-day Poon Hill Trek is spring season (from March to May) and autumn (from September to mid-December). However, the trek is possible to do all around the year. The 3 Day Poon Hill Trek low-altitude trek in Nepal that goes only to 3210 meters above sea level so, it is doable in winter (December to February) and moon soon season (June to August).

How to Reach Pokhara to do 3 days Poon Hill Trek

Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal, and Tribhuvan International Airport is only the international airport in Nepal so, this airport is only the entry and exit point for the international airport when you travel to Nepal by air transport. Furthermore, if you travel to Nepal by Overland, then you can enter Nepal through the Nepal-Tibet border and Nepal-Tibet Border.

If you travel to Nepal through Nepal-India Border, then you can travel to Pokhara directly from the border and start the 3 Day Poon Hill Trek. If you travel Nepal through the Nepal-Tibet Border or airport, then you can either travel to Pokhara by domestic flight, or hire a private vehicle, or travel by tourist bus.
