Chitwan ( means forests where leopards dwell), is the first National park in Nepal which was estlablished in 1973 AD , According to the UNESCO, the Heritage site is “ at the foot of the Himalayas”. Chitwan is one of the few remaining undisturbed vestiges of the Tarai region of Nepal which formerly extended over the foothills of India and Nepal, it has a particularly righ flora and fauna. One of the last populations of one-horned Asiatic rhinoceros lives in the park, which is also one of the last refuges of the Bengal tiger.

The Chitwan national park enjoys three main seasons, hot and dry summner, a hot and humid rainly season and a warm winnter, between October and February, the average temperature is 25 degree ensuring a pleasant climate, from march through June, temperature can reach as high as 40 degree, the hot and humid days give way to the monsoon that typically lasts for four months from June to September , the best time to visit this is from October to April however one can visit the park and do Jungle activities any time of the year.

The Jungle safari in Chitwan National park is the most accessible  park in Nepal and Chitwan National park is located in the southern middle part of Nepal and Chitwan is linked by all type of transports like air transport, road transport and even by Trisuli river rafting as well, the Chitwan is situated only 150m above the sea level, during the March-June the steamy covers all the way around. Whereas the short grass of Feb-May the best game-viewing season, but the autumn months are gorgeous with Himalayan views.

The ways to get for Chitwan Jungle Safari:

By Road to Chitwan- we simply can departure from Kathmandu at 7.00 A.M by car/ tourist coach for Chitwan National park on the Mugling-Narayanghat highway 175 km to the park and this is most popular modes of transport to Chitwan.

By rafting to Chitwan: We can depart from Kathmandu at 7.00 A.M. by Car/Van/coach to some place where the rafting on Trisuli River and experience the rafting in Trisuli for about 3 hours then drive to Chtiwan from the point of the rafting completion, we have guide package for the Rafting and Chitwan, please contact us for the detail.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01.Drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan - 6 Hours: After b/fast, we will drive down to Chitwan and this is about a 6-7 hours wonderfully scenic drive along the banks of the Trisuli river and you are able to view the beautiful landscapes, valleys, mountains, lush green hamlets set amidst color rural landscapes and so much more right from the windows of your bus. If you have any time constraints, you have options of taking private transport or flights. Overnight at our lodge (A, L, D)

Day 02.Full Day Jungle Activities in Chitwan National park: After b/fast amidst the sweet chirping of birds, we set out for a Full day of jungle activities that include Jungle Walking, Canoe ride, Elephant Back Riding Safari across streams & into the jungles; we also enjoy watching the Elephants bathing and visit the elephant Breeding center, at eventide, while having supper, we enjoy a scintillating Tharu cultural stick dance that’s real exciting to watch in the evening. Overnight at our lodge (A, B, L, D)

Day 03. Kathmandu - Chitwan: In the morning after b/fast, you will drive from Chitwan to Kathmandu, the drive will be scenic and you will have beautiful views from the window of the bus. (B)

Note - you have option to drive to Pokhara instead of Kathmandu, if you have days and want to visit the Pokhara city as well, we have package for Kathmandu-Chitwan-Pokhara tour or you can extend your holiday even to Lumbini.

 Essential Info

The electricity is available in most of our holidays and in the cities like Kathmandu, Pokhara, Palpa, Lumbini, Chitwan, Nagarkot, Dhulikhel and in some of the villages on our trekking holiday, hiking holiday, climbing holiday and home stay trekking where you can re-charge your mobile phone and camera batteries, not all in all places of our trekking so, we advise you to have spare batteries when you do the trekking, hiking, home stay and climbing holidays  and there is not electricity available on our camping adventure trekking holiday so, you need to have enough spare batteries when you do those trips.


We offer professional licensed tour guide on all our sightseeing holidays and there will be local nature guide in the Jungle tours, rafting guide for the river holidays and there will be trained trekking guide (handles the logistics and guide you and your team on the trek)  on our trekking holidays, hiking holiday and adventure holiday and a Sherpa when there are 10 or more members in the group and porters to carry your luggage and there will be 1 porter for 2 members and a porter will carry about 20kg means 10 KG from each trekker and we will provide licensed climbing guide for climbing holidays.

The Wonderful Environment of the Himalayas is also an extremely fragile one. Increasing population density and numbers of travelers threaten the very beauty of Nepal. At Escape Nepal, we are extremely conscious about the environment and aim to minimize our impact as much as possible. As deforestation is one of the greatest environmental threats we face in this region, we do not encourage camp fires and encourage use of kerosene for cooking as an alternative fuel to wood. We also discourage trekkers from using wood-fuelled hot showers in lodges along the way. Many lodges, however, now have solar hot showers, a far more eco-friendly alternative.

Garbage disposal is another major problem and some of the busier trails can, at times, appear strewn with litter for miles. Our staff members are well motivated towards eco-friendly practices. We carry out all our garbage, apart from that which can be safely and easily burnt at the campsite. Our aim is to help protect and preserve this beautiful environment for future generations of trekkers to enjoy and we advise the same to you to keep the garbage on proper site and take return those with you to homes which are Non- biodegradable.

  • Leave only footprints and take only photographs.
  • Use designated routes, campsites and resting places to reduce trampling and other negative environmental impacts.
  • Respect local culture and traditions, use home stays, locally owned hotels/ lodges or campsites as much as possible to support the local livelihood.
  • Avoid/ minimize using firewood. Use common space for heating. Opt for alternatives to minimize deforestation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene. Use the litter box locally available. Carry back your own garbage while traveling through ecologically sensitive areas.
  • Encourage to place mobile toilets at a considerable distance from sources of water, river banks and springs while camping along the river sides.
  • Use the services of local guides and porters as much as possible to explore more about local environment and culture.
  • Money spent here will contribute directly to the local livelihood, women’s empowerment and environmental conservation.
