Tamang Heritage Trail is a new trekking trail in Nepal for the trekkers that explore the beauty of mountains with the culture of local Tamang people. The trek goes through Tamang villages where you explore culture and lifestyle of the locals.
Tamang heritage cultural trail is one of the best trekking trails to explore in Nepal. You receive warm welcome by the locals who are rich in their distinct costumes, architecture of their mountain houses and ancient monasteries.
Tamang heritage cultural trail offers wilderness experience through beautiful landscapes of alpine terrain, flat meadows and rhododendron forests. The inhabitants of this area are believed to be the offspring of Tibetans from Kerung who intermingled with Tamang of the Helambu area. Tamang communities are generally found on higher elevations with the peasants engaging in shifting cultivation and extraction of forest products. They are mainly sheep and yak herders but grow some grains and vegetables as well.

Tamang Heritage trail trek starts and ends in Syabrubesi. You go trekking passing through Goljung, Gatlang, Thuman, Timure and Briddim and these villages are inhabited by Tamangs. The trekking trail is named Tamang heritage as most of the villages you trek on this trail are inhabited by Tamang.
