Trip Overview

Tamang Heritage Trail is a new trekking trail in Nepal for the trekkers that explore the beauty of mountains with the culture of local Tamang people. The trek goes through Tamang villages, where you explore the culture and lifestyle of the locals.

Tamang heritage cultural trail is one of the best trekking trails to explore in Nepal. You receive a warm welcome by the locals who are rich in their Distinct costumes, the architecture of their mountain houses, and ancient monasteries.

Tamang heritage cultural trail offers wilderness experience through beautiful landscapes of alpine terrain, flat meadows, and rhododendron forests through Langtang National Park. The people of this area are believed to be the offspring of the Tibetans, and they intermingled with Tamang of the Helambu area. Tamang communities are found on higher elevations as peasants engaging in shifting cultivation and extraction of forest products. They are mainly sheep and yak herders but grow some grains and vegetables as well.

You enjoy the dramatic views of Langtang Lirung (7245m.), Langtang Kerung, Chimse Danda, Ganjala Pass (5122m.), Dorje Lakpa (6989m.), Jugal Himal, Paldor peak, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Shringi Himal, Sanjen Himal ranges and many other Himalayas during the Tamang Heritage Trail Trek.

Tamang Heritage trail trek starts and ends in Syabrubesi, and the trekking goes by passing through Goljung, Gatlang, Thuman, Timure, and Briddim, and These all villages are inhabited by the Tamangs. So, the trail is named the Tamang Heritage Trail.

If you have a longer time and want to combine the Tamang Heritage trek with the Langtang, then you can Join the Langtang Valley Trek at Briddim, Or complete the whole Langtang Circuit Trek after Tamang Heritage.
