Short yet exciting flight to Lukla airport

Lukla is the starting point of the Deluxe Everest Base Camp Trek. A short flight takes you to Lukla. The flight is short and lasts for around 35 minutes. During the flight, you can see stunning views of the Himalayas.

Trek through Sagarmatha National Park to reach Namche Bazar

You have to pass by Sagarmatha National Park to reach Namche Bazar. This national park is part of the UNESCO World Natural Site. The park includes many ascends and descends through dense forests. As this national park is home to many species, you get to see diverse flora and fauna on the way.

Explore Namche Bazar

Namche Bazar is the biggest Sherpa settlement area in the Khumbu region. It is also the tourist hub, where you get to meet fellow trekkers from all around the world.

Here, you spend a couple of nights acclimatizing yourself. During your stay here, you go on a short excursion to Everest View Hotel or Syangboche Airstrip. Likewise, you also visit the Sherpa Culture Museum and Everest Photo Gallery.

Visit an ancient monastery in Tengboche

Tengboche village houses the oldest and the biggest monastery of the Khumbu region. This monastery was constructed in 1961 by Lama Gulu and later rebuilt twice.

Tengboche monastery is a very significant place for the locals. Many major festivals and celebrations are done here. From the back of the monastery, you can see wonderful views of snow-capped mountains.

After you arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport, you get picked up by one of our airport representatives.

He then guides you to the hotel and helps you check in. The evening is free for you to relax and stroll on the colorful streets of Kathmandu.

You go on a guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu today. During the tour, you visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. You get to see a great blend of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Tibetan Buddhism while on the tour.

After a quick breakfast, you drive to the airport and fly to Lukla. The flight is short yet thrilling and beautiful.

Upon landing at the airport, you begin trekking along the left bank of the Dudh Koshi River. The trail gradually descends through the lush forests and takes you to Phakding.

The day begins following the Dudh Koshi River. You cross the river numerous times and reach Jorsale.

After having lunch here, you begin ascending towards Namche Bazar through the forested path. The trail is steep and tough. Namche Bazar will welcome you with stunning views of snow-capped mountains.

Namche Bazar is a beautiful village and the most developed one in the Khumbu region. You have lots of options to spend the day.

You can go on a short excursion to Everest View Hotel or Syangboche Airstrip to witness fantastic views of the Himalayas as well as to acclimatize yourself. Also, you can visit the Everest Photo Gallery and Sherpa Culture Museum.

The trail moves along the flat ridge path offering wonderful views of Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Kantega, Ama Dablam, etc.

You descend to a river and reach Phunki Tenga. From here, the trail ascends through lush rhododendron forests and takes you to Tengboche. Here, you can visit the Tengboche monastery, which is known as the biggest and the oldest monastery in the Khumbu region.

The trail descends through beautiful rhododendron forests and leads you to Imja Khola.

You cross a thrilling suspension bridge and pass by mani walls. Further, you trek and reach Pangboche and continue walking along summer pastures to reach Dingboche.

This is your second rest day in Dingboche. You have got the entire day to yourself. You can go on a short excursion to acclimatize yourself.

From Dingboche, you get to build wonderful views of Mt. Ama Dablam, Island Peak, Mt. Nuptse, and Mt. Lhotse.

From Dingboche, the trail leads you to a mani prayer stupa. From here, you can enjoy the beautiful views of Mt. Tawache, Mt. Kongma, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Poklade, etc.

Further, you cross a small wooden bridge and pass by Dugla (4,595 m). The trail then follows a steep ascend to Lobuche.

Today, you reach Everest Base Camp. From Lobuche, you walk on a rocky moraine path. The trail offers stunning views of glacial ponds and icebergs below the Khumbu glacier. Further, you descend to Gorakshep, where you take a short lunch break check in to the lodge, and leave all the stuff.

You then trek to base camp and the trail then ascends and takes you to the base of the world's highest mountain, Mt. Everest (8,848 m). After spending some time at the base camp, you descend to Gorak Shep for a night's stay.

You wake up early in the morning and begin ascending towards Kala Patthar.

From the top of the Kala Patthar, you get to see a panoramic view of Mt. Everest and many other mountain peaks like Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, etc.

You then drop down to Pheriche following the same path for a night stay.

Leaving Pheriche behind, you descend through a hillside covered with juniper trees.

Waking a small break either at Pangboche or Tengboche, you continue ascending and descending through lush forest and small villages to reach Namche Bazar

Today, the trail descends back to Lukla. Trekking through Sagarmatha National Park, you pass by lush forest and many villages.

On the way, you cross many streams before reaching Phakding. From here, you ascend following a stream and reach Lukla.

After having an early breakfast, you fly back to Kathmandu. Upon landing at the airport, you drive back to the hotel for a night's stay and the rest of the day is free.

It's also a spare day in case of bad weather in Lukla if you could not fly on the scheduled date and time.

You can go on Bhaktapur and Patan tour or shopping tour in Kathmandu if you want and if the flight happened on time.

Today is your last day in Kathmandu. You will be transferred to the international airport for your final departure to your home or next destination.

Deluxe Everest Base Camp Trek itinerary

The Deluxe Everest Base Camp Trek begins with a thrilling flight to Lukla. After landing here, you meet with the other crew members and begin moving towards Phakding, your first stop for the day.

The trail passes through dense forests crossing several streams and takes you to the famous Namche Bazar.

Further, the trail moves along Tengboche village, Dingboche, and Lobuche. Passing by the last settlement area at Gorak Shep, you reach Everest Base Camp. The next morning, you hike up to Kala Patthar to capture the gorgeous sunrise and retrace the route back.

Deluxe Everest Base Camp Trek difficulty

Deluxe Everest Base Camp Trek is a moderate trek. If you are a new trekker, then the trail can get a little tough for you. There are many ascends and descends that you have to overcome before reaching EBC.

Likewise, the trail also involves steep and rugged paths. You are to walk 6 to 7 hours a day. Previous trekking experience is not needed to go on Deluxe Everest Base Camp Trek, however, you have to be in good health and physical fitness to go on the trek.

Best time to go on Deluxe Everest Base Camp Trek

Autumn and spring are considered the best time to go on Deluxe Everest Base Camp Trek. Months in these seasons are March to April and September to December.

The weather is mostly stable, which is needed for a safe and successful journey. Likewise, the climate also remains moderate. In spring, you can see various Himalayan vegetation, while in autumn, you can be part of one of the many festivals that are being celebrated at this time.

And, you stay overnight in the most comfortable and lavish lodges on the trail. The rooms will be big with a comfortable bed and a private washroom (in most places). As per your need, we l either book you a single or twin-sharing room.
