From here, you start trekking towards Namche Bazar through dense forests and small villages. The trail then ascends to Gokyo valley and takes you to the Gokyo village. You spend a couple of nights in the village and go on a hike to Gokyo Ri. Further, crossing the Renjo La Pass, you descend back to Lukla.

Lukla is the starting point of the Gokyo - Renjo La Pass Trek. A short, around 35 minutes flight takes you to Lukla. You get to see breath-taking aerial views of picturesque valleys and snow-capped mountains during the flight. The unusual location and circumstances of the Lukla airport make this short flight a lifelong memory for every traveler.

The Gokyo-Renjo la pass trek trail passes through Sagarmatha National Park, which is listed in UNESCO Natural World Heritage Sites. These lakes are the world's highest freshwater lake system.

You cross the Renjo La Pass (5,345 m) from Gokyo village. The trail to this pass is demanding and requires steep climbing. The trekking trail is rugged. You get to witness unbelievable views of surrounding mountains from the top. Overall, the Gokyo and Renjo La Pass Trek offer you panoramic views of numerous Himalayan mountains like Mt. Today, you go on a guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu that includes a visit to UNESCO World Heritage sites like Boudhnath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square.

The guide will explain to you about the major events that happened in these sites and the history and stories behind them. And Later, you prepare for the trek and shop trek gear if you need it.

After a quick breakfast at the hotel, you drive to the airport and fly to Lukla. This flight is going to be the most thrilling and memorable flight of your life.

On landing at Lukla, you meet with the trekking crew and begin trekking towards Phakding. From Lukla, the trail ascends through dense forests along Dudh Koshi River to Phakding.

After having a warm breakfast, continue trekking along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing it several times. The trail further follows Sagarmatha National Park, which is home to hundreds of flora and fauna.

The trail from the national park ascends steeply, and it is tough. However, steeping your feet in beautiful Namche Bazar makes you forget the pain you had earlier.

Today is a rest day at Namche Bazar. You spend the day exploring around. You can go on a short hike to Everest View Hotel or Khumjung village.

The places are good for observing excellent views of snow-capped mountains. You then trek back to Namche Bazar and make sure to visit Everest Photo Gallery and Sherpa Culture Museum if time permits.

After breakfast at the lodge, you start the trekking, and the trail continues to Dole. The trail from Sanasa ascends to Mongla, from where you get to see superb views of the Himalayas.

Furthermore, you descend on the steep path and pass through Phortse Tenga and ascend steeply through a lush forest of rhododendron & birch to Dole.

After breakfast at the lodge, you start the trekking, and the trail steeply ascends along the side of the valley. You then walk through small thorny bushes.

Further, pass by many small villages and pastures. You get to see wonderful views of Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Kantega, and Mt. Thamserku.

You start the trek after breakfast at the lodge. Today, the trail leads to Gokyo valley. Following a very scenic path, you reach Pangka and descend along a river.

The trail then ascends on a rocky path into the valley by the side of the glacier. You pass by the first holy lake and then the second.

After early breakfast at the lodge, you start the hiking, and the trail gradually ascends to Renjo La Pass. Upon reaching the pass, you get to see an excellent landscape view.

Further, the trail winds down a stone staircase and then scramble over loose scree to reach the south bank of a small lake, Angladumba Tsho. From here, walk through a narrow valley clogged with giant boulders and reach Lunde then to Thame.

After breakfast at the lodge, you start the trek and will be walking on a flat route, and the trail descends to Thamo.

You cross a bridge and drop down to Samde. From here, you get to see fantastic views of the mountains. The trail steeply descends and takes you to Namche Bazar.

After a quick breakfast at the lodge, you start the trek descending through Sagarmatha National Park and reach Phakding.

You have lunch in Phadking, and you start another part of the trek. The trail ascends to Lukla along the Dudh Koshi River.

Today, you take an early breakfast at the lodge and take a morning flight back to Kathmandu. The flight is short and scenic.

Upon reaching Kathmandu, you move to the hotel, and the rest of the day is free for you to explore around and relax.

It is a leisure day for you. You are free to do anything, and this is also a buffer day. If you need any extra day on the trekking, or if there is any delay or cancelation on the flight to, or from Lukla cause of bad weather in the mountain.

Permit Required for Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek

You are required to have Sagarmatha National park entry permits, TIMS (Trekkers information management system) permit, and another entry permits from Khumbu - Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality.

Fitness Required for Gokyo Renjo La pass Trek

A moderate level of fitness is required with good health and daily trekking/hiking between 3 to 6 hours for Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek. You reach an altitude of 3800m above sea level. Thus, previous trekking experience is recommended.

The best time to go on the Gokyo-Renjo La Pass Trek are Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to December). These are the most preferred times for the trek as the weather generally remains stable. Likewise, the clear sky and pleasant climate makes the journey joyful and views outstanding.

You can find good variation in the menu at a lower elevation of the Gokyo-Renjo La Pass Trek, the Dishes like momo, noodles, pasta, pizza, sandwiches, pastries, coffee, and tea, can be found in Namche Bazar and other villages. As the elevation increase, the menu also gets limited and expensive. The meals are served by the menu of the teahouse/lodge.
