Scenic drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal

You take a short drive to Sundarijal (trek start point from Kathmandu. You get to see the countryside views on the way. It is a beautiful village famous for the short gateway, biking, and picking among local travelers. Here, you get to see Sundarijal Hydropower station that supplies electricity to Kathmandu.

You drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal in morning about 8:00 am from your hotel in Kathmandu. The drive is about an hour then the trek will start with walk on the stairs that lead to Shivapuri National Park. 

Upon reaching the entrance of the national park, you see well-defined boards that mark the way to Chisapani. Passing by a beautiful waterfall and watershed, you trek through Tamang villages and reach Mulkarka. The trail then goes through dense forest and takes you to Chisapani.

After breakfast at lodge, you start the trek towards Nagarkot. The trail slowly ascends and takes you to Chauki Bhanjyang, where you take a short break to have lunch.

The trail continues offering wonderful views of the Himalaya range, stretching from Dhaulagiri in the west all the way past Everest to Kanchenjunga in the east. After reaching Nagarkot, you rest and explore the area. In the evening, you will see a gorgeous sunset views over the Himalayas.

You wake up early to see an amazing sunrise along with Himalayan panorama. You then have breakfast, and then hike for a couple of hours to reach the holy Changu Narayan temple.

It is a very ancient and artistic temple of Nepal. You then take a short lunch break and drive back to Kathmandu.

Chisapani Nagarkot 3 days is an easy trek in Nepal. There is no drastic change in the altitude, therefore you do not have to worry about high altitude sickness on this trek.

Chisapani Nagarkot trek passes through lush forests and a few rugged paths, which is bearable for individuals with sound health and fitness. You have to walk 5 to 6 hours a day that does require effort. This hike is suitable for people of all ages.

The best time to go on Chisapani Nagarkot trek is from March to May and September to December. You can also go on this hike during winter- December to February, but the views might not be clear because of unclear weather. Likewise, you can do this small trek in monsoon as well.

You stay overnight in a guesthouse/hotels in Chisapani-Nagarkot Trek. As it is not a remote area, you get almost all modern facilities. The guesthouse do not be lavish, but there is basic services like a hot shower, wifi, charging facility, network, etc. The rooms usually come on a sharing basis with a private or common washroom.
