Dhampus Sarangkot Trek explores verdant forests and mountain villages of the lower Annapurna region. It is a short and easy trek perfect for any age group or family holiday. The trail is comfortable with a few steep and rocky sections. Dhampus Sarangkot Trek combines both tour and hiking in the trip. You will be exploring ancient monuments in two of Nepal's big cities- Kathmandu and Pokhara. The monuments present Nepali art, architecture, and history.

The Dhampus Sarangkot Trek is a short trek and a good alternative to the famous Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. The trail is less crowded and can be done by people of any age.

During trekking, you will observe stunning snow-capped Himalayan mountains like Mt. Manaslu (8,156 m), Mt. Annapurna (8091 m), Mt. Machhapuchhre (6,993 m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Lamjung Himal (6,983 m), and many others. Likewise, you get several chances to witness gorgeous sunrises and sunsets.

The Dhampus Sarangkot Trek trail is beautiful and offers alluring sceneries. Get to learn the Gurung culture and tradition. The trail passes through beautiful remote villages. It is a short three days trek that takes you away from the chaos of the city. You will get plenty of time to relax as the trail gradually ascends.

Sightseeing in Kathmandu

In Kathmandu, you will go on a guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu monuments like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple.

The tour will be led by a professional tour guide who will introduce you to the sites. The art, architecture, and craftsmanship that will be seen during the tour will showcase rich Nepali culture & history.

Drive to Pokhara

The drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu is around 6 to 7hours long. During the driving, lush green hills, rivers, waterfalls, terraced farms, and views of small settlement areas will keep your company. If you love long drives, then it is going to be a pleasant time for you.

Adventurous trail

Reach Dhampus in a short 40 minutes’ drive. From here, you trek through small villages and forested paths to Naudanda. The trail also crosses streams and suspension bridges before reaching Sarangkot. There will be many ascends and descends throughout the trek.

Witness mountain lifestyle & outstanding views

The trail goes through many villages, resided by people from diverse communities. You can see their lifestyle and traditions closely. The locals are friendly & welcoming, so, feel free to interact with them. Likewise, throughout the trek, you can see magnificent views of the snow-capped mountains, glorious sunrise, and impressive landscapes.

Explore Sarangkot & Pokhara

Sarangkot is mostly known for paragliding, but it is also a vantage point to witness mountains and hills. Let us know if you want to taste the thrill of paragliding we will arrange it on time for you. In Pokhara, you can also visit places like Davis Falls, Bat Cave, Mahendra Cave, Phewa Lake, Begnas Lake, etc, if time permits.

Kathmandu is one of those cities that carries modern architecture and historical monuments hand in hand. The city is full of ancient palaces, courtyards, shrines, and temples that date back centuries and centuries. During the guided tour, you will visit a few of those monuments like the holy Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhnath Stupa, Swayambhunath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Our tour guide will explain the importance of the places and the history behind them.

Pokhara is a beautiful city with its calming charms and stunning lakes. It will be around a 6 to 7 hours long drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The drive is phenomenal because of the breath-taking scenery. Upon reaching Pokhara, get refreshed in your hotel and explore around the Lakeside Market. There is a beautiful lake called Phewa, where you can see people boating and enjoying the sunset.

After having breakfast, you will drive to Dhampus. It takes approximately 40 minutes to reach Dhmapus from Pokhara. The views along the drive are beautiful. You can see hills and snow-capped mountains like Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Mt. Annapurna (8,091 m), Mt. Fishtail (6,993 m), etc.

Wake up early to see a gorgeous sunrise and the Annapurna Himalayan range. After that, have breakfast and begin walking towards Sarangkot. The trail descends to Ghatte Khola and crosses it on a suspension bridge. Further, an uphill climb will lead you to Naudanda that continues towards the Sarangkot hill. It is a popular place for paragliding. You can see many paragliders around the area.

Take a short hike to the viewpoint to see the tempting sunrise and Annapurna & Dhaulagiri range. Later, you drive back to Pokhara. You can visit places like Davis Falls, Bat Cave, Gupteshwor Cave, etc... As per your time. You are free to dine in as per your desire in the evening.

Dhampus Sarangkot Trek is available and doable throughout the year. However, spring and autumn are the perfect time to go on the Dhampus Sarangkot trek. Whereas, the winter season is also a good option to go on this hike to warm up your body and soul.

We provide hotel accommodation for five nights (3 nights in Kathmandu and two nights in Pokhara), and two nights in a lodge (in Dhampus and Sarangkot). We provide a total of 13 meals (7 breakfast, 3 lunches, and 3 dinners), and the meals are provided at hotels and lodges. You can expect to get dishes like India, Nepali, and Continental.

Yes, we arrange Airport pick up on your arrival at Kathmandu airport once you book the Dhampus Sarangkot trek. However, the free airport transfer is available only if you arrive and depart on our scheduled dates.

Important Note on Arrival: There can be many people around you to support you to carry your luggage or to put your luggage in the vehicle when you exit from Airport, and they ask for money as a tip at the end (These people do not belong to us).

So, be careful of them, and we advise not to let them carry your bag/luggage. We suggest you take your bag/luggage yourself until you put in the vehicle as there are many trolleys that you can use free of cost.

Yes, We have not included a porter on the cost of the Dhampus Sarangkot trek and the luggage has to be carried by yourself, as this is a short 3day trek and you do not need to bring much stuff, and you also can leave some Stuff in the hotel in Pokhara if you have any.

Yes, you can add a mountain flight tour on the morning of day two before the Kathmandu tour starts and Trisuli River Rafting for 3 hours on day three while driving to Pokhara, and these activities do not need any extra days.

Furthermore, if you have any extra days, then you can do the Chitwan Jungle safari from Pokhara or add Tibet Lhasa Tour in Tibet or Bhutan Tour in Bhutan.
